NOVEMBER 5th & 6th, JOIN US! 
We are hosting a USAW Level 1 right in our home, Crossfit Parallax.

Lead instructor Peter Roselli is a USA Weightlifting Senior International Coach who has coached Junior and Senior American Record holders and National Champions and medalists. He has formerly served USAW as a Board Member and High Performance Director, and recently returned from the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he served as Team Leader.

Assistant instructor Jim Rutter is a USA Weightlifting National Coach who has coached over 20 athletes to National competition, including national medalists. As an athlete, he has set two National Master’s Records and is the founder and head coach of Philadelphia Barbell Club.

Both days will be filled with knowledge bombs to help you on the barbell.

"LIFT UP AUTISM"
Saturday, September 10th- 7am & 9am

This "competition for a cause" specifically sought to support early diagnosis and treatment of Autism, raise funds for the Autism Tree Project Foundation in San Diego, and most importantly, turn a global spotlight on the measured and severe impact of Autism on families and individuals around the world.
?The event is just a 5 minute workout that is challenging, yet accessable for all. 

We will run this workout during our normal class times that day, at 7AM & 9AM. You can sign-up for the event by registering for the WOD, adding a t-shirt to your order, or even just adding a donation of your choice! The live link is

On July 18th, 8 of our athletes from Crossfit Parallax will venture out to Carson, CA to compete in the 2016 Crossfit Games! We have 2 masters athletes & a team that have qualified, for the first time ever!.

The carnival will be a fundraiser to help the athletes with their travel expenses. All ages and levels of fitness are welcome! No CrossFit experience needed!! Food & drinks will be available for purchase.

Some of the games will challenge you to complete as many reps as you can in a timed setting; such as partner jumprope, push ups, wall balls, etc. 

Some games will have a certain amout of reps that you will try to finish the fastest; such as pistols, sprinting for a specific distance, or burpees.

Additionally, some games will be more skill involved; such as cornhole, keg toss, horse shoes, and more!! 

The scores for each game/activity will be kept track of throughout the day and the person with the best score will win a prize!! 

SO if you ever were interested in testing how many air squats you can do in a minute, or how far you can handstand walk, or how fast you can run 100 meters, start practicing those skills!! And if you have been hesitant about trying crossfit or are unfamiliar with the movements, this is a great time to come out and try
some for fun!!

We are hosting a VO2 Max testing on Saturday, April 9th
?
VO2 max testing looks at how efficiently your body is using oxygen, as well as the fuel sources your body uses during various exercise intensities. This test is considered the best indicator of cardiovascular fitness and aerobic endurance. The greater the amount of oxygen a person can use during high level exercise, the more energy (ATP) a person can produce. Training at or above your anaerobic threshold, which is identified during this test, will improve the body's ability to make ATP/energy and deliver to the cells. 
?
There is also a body impedance analysis- The process of measuring specific components of your body, essentially what you're made of. Weight alone is not a good indicator of health because it does not distinguish water, muscle or bone. This quick test will provide the following data:
-Total pounds of body water
-Total pounds of lean muscle mass
-Total pounds of fat mass
-Skeletal muscle mass
-Segmental lean analysis (pounds of muscle on right/left arm, right/left leg, and pounds of muscle in your trunk)
-BMI (body mass index)
-Body fat percentage
-Basal metabolic rate (calories burned in a day at rest)?

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13th
10AM-12PM 

Dr. Rick Carlson of Optimal Health Chiropractic and Sports Injury will be hosting a mobility seminar here at Parallax. We will go over many ways to improve your mobility and look to identify where the problems are coming from. We will focus on human bio mechanics, common muscle imbalances, energy leaks during lifting and corrective strategies. 
Anyone is welcome, members and non-members! Only a $5 fee for non-members.
